For this Project which is financed by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), the Consultants were responsible from the final design, preparation of tender documents, prequalification of the tenderers, tender evaluation and site supervision. The Works were being realized together with one British, one Kuwait and two other Turkish Consulting firms. System will deliver 145 million m³/year water from two regulators to İstanbul and consists of following elements.
Two Regulators on Çanak and Göksu Rivers Near Ağva (Şile)
An Open Channel and a Tunnel Between the Two Regulators
An Intake Pumping Station Near İsaköy Regulator with Ten Units (Two Stand-by), Eiight of them 4500 kW with a Total 12 m³/s Discharge
A Steel Pumping Main of 2,75 km Length with 2700 mm Dia
A 27 m High Surge Shaft with a Diameter of 15 m
Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Raw Water Gravity Pipe Line of Approx 30 km Long and 3000 mm Dia, Steel Raw Water Gravity Pipe of Approx 14 km Long and 3000 mm Dia
